These are some of the designs Hannah came up with for the character and a sketch of her by Conor. We decided to place the character in modern times for ease of costume and everything, it meant Lucy could just use her own clothes and it would tone down on hassle.
We had a session where actors cam in and read our scripts, ours didn't have really any dialogue so it was mainly a discussion about the concept and story. From this we decided to make the it a bit more obvious that Lucy lives in a sort of imaginary world by putting on some voice over of her talking about her favourite games and how she'd be good if she was a super hero. I think this is maybe a bit of a cop out as it shows it all a bit too clearly and makes it less subtle film making, but also since we only have a minute or so to establish our character I think it will benefit the piece overall.
These are just brief notes made during meetings by me and Hannah in meetings.
