Liverpool Day 3

Oli shooting some of the art in Liverpool
Again for the start of our third day we split into our two units we were all going with the goal of getting more shots of Liverpool to emphasise the Liverpool stories aspect of the film and to give the doc more of a sense of place.

The challenge was that a lot of Liverpool's most known landmarks were a long way away from us and ones that were near had a lot of corporate logos and shops around, so would take a lot of blurring of the shops since using their name in the film without permission could lead to trouble.

We then met back at the hostel and headed to our final interview at Zap Graffiti. Since they'd put out a post on their Facebook page when we got there there was a couple of people willing to talk to us. On of the problems we faced were similar to Tomo they didn't want to be on camera, due to what they do and probably partly to build up a sort of name and enigma around them.

The place it's self was a relative gold mine, there was so many characters and so many things going on we could have set the whole documentary purely on that company. The walls themselves were just open canvases with spray paint layered on other pieces.

The Kieran interview went well, he had a lot of good points and was good at elaborating on point and being passionate in his delivery, helping us get a response from the audience a lot. He also said a few things that our other interviewees talked about, meaning when I came to edit I could much easier link the interviews together when me and Noah sit down and discuss the narrative we want. Also Kieran guided us to talk to Ryan whom we interviewed which again gives me plenty of footage to play with when it comes to the edit.

The main problem with the visit was that we all got talking to a lot of different people while we were there but we only had one zoom so while everyone was saying good things we only managed to capture a fraction of it, nonetheless a good fraction that we can use in our doc.

Zener doing our title

We also got one of the people there named Zener to spray paint our title for us, to give us a personal feel to the opening.
